Incubate: 12 days to go: DJ /rupture

Good, it’s almost here again: Incubate. But with so many artists, what to see? Allow me to be your digital flashlight in this dark cave filled with underground music and together we will count down the next 33 days with 33 short artist recommendations.

Fri, 17th       01:00 -03:00       Paradox ‘DJ /rupture is the pseudonym of Jace Clayton, a producer and DJ, formerly based in Barcelona, but now New York City. His second mixtape Minesweeper Suite was an even greater success, with the UK music magazine The Wire calling it one of the 10 best records of 2003.

Tagged on as: breakcore, electronic, experimental, mashup, ragga

Similar Artists: Max Tundra, Jahdan Blakkamoore, Caroline Bergvall, Mizz Beats, Zomby, Filastine, Timeblind, Matt Shadetek

If the whole blekkk metal thing isn’t for you, there’s another artist you should see on Friday: DJ /rupture. I saw him last year in 013 with Andy Moor (The Ex) and was blown away by his skills and his feel for music. After the metallic noise of the rest of the evening I will probably go and see this to get myself back in balance again. During the daytime DJ /rupture will be speaking at the Incubate Pirate Conference.

A new video for the new mix, Solar Life Raft! This is a very special animation, directed by Sara Taigher and illustrated by Maria Chiara di Giorgio.
